Bread Crumbs
How many times do we go out to eat each week? How many times do we order food for convenience when our fridge is stocked up with items that can be used to cook a hearty meal? How many times do we pay for something and then leave our change in our car and completely forget about this change? Or find random money when we pull out our seasonal clothes? How many of us have piggy banks that we add money to but never utilize?
Most of us, living in the United States have more than one car (at least) and are saturated with unneeded luxuries that bombarding media outlets convince us we absolutely need to have. Sadly, that's not how life is for the majority of the world. The majority of our brothers and sisters are less fortunate and don't always sleep full or warm, but they still smile because they know and believe of the Good News.
What would our world and their world be like if we shared our bread crumbs? Yes, bread crumbs. The food that falls from the rich man's table, like the Bible says. The bread crumbs the rich don't even see, nor feel them missing, but the disadvantaged can survive on for weeks. Let's say you go out for pizza one night and spend the average $40 to feed your family — Do you know how much $40 could do for a family in Africa, or somewhere else where people live on less than $1 per day?
We're not asking for donations or for anyone to not accommodate their "needs" so they can serve another. We are asking for your bread crumbs. For this new project, we are looking to recruit volunteers that would spread this message and be in charge of a box where people can allocate their bread crumbs. If you are interested in this project and would like to be one of our volunteers, please contact us.
