9/23/2011 - Swahili Bibles for Prisoners on Death Row in Nairobi, Kenya
One of the youth from a group that served in Nairobi, Kenya for two weeks found it in his heart to contribute to a cause many may not consider. As he visited a prison and saw many prisoners who were hungry for Christ but did not even have His word, he decided to reach out to youth in Los Angeles for help. These prisoners were not hopeless. They sat on the dirt and joyously sang Christian songs when they were visited by this group of youth as they clearly yearned for more of Christ. Many of us have more than one personal Bible. We receive them as gifts and purchase several versions. Many of us even have Bibles at home that are simply collecting dust and we barely use them. Nevertheless, thank God and thanks to this young man. In just one month, we received enough donations for this special cause and now 300 prisoners have their own Bible. When we work together, not only can we reach what may seem impossible, but we can help someone gain or regain their salvation, and that is priceless.
