Providing people with food, clothes, health care and financial support is extremely essential in the short run, and in many cases, could mean the difference between life and death; however, helping people build their future through education and training is our focus. Building stronger communities in general, building positive characteristics and work values among Christians is a must in order to create a brighter future for many generations to come.
Mission for Christ currently has two programs for Educational Support:
This fund helps students from elementary to high school afford school expenses and supplies. Based on the economic conditions of the families of such children, they may qualify for an Education Support allowance. We monitor the usage of the allowance and the progress of the children to make sure that the allowance is spent on the right cause.
You could help this service through one-time donations to the educational fund, or by regular contributions that will be all used for that cause. Given the relatively high college and higher education costs in many African countries and other countries around the world, we are able to provide the brightest and most enthusiastic students who would like to go to college or have higher education with non-interest loans that are not due till 3 years after they graduate. Students then pay the principle amount back over 3-5 years based on the size of the loan. This approach allows such individuals to realize their dreams and change their future by which they are then able to pay us back where money is constantly reused to support other students. This way MFC helps as many of these ambitious people (and there are plenty among Christians), not only help themselves, but also help others in their community. You could help MFC in this service by one-time or regular donations to the educational fund, or through the “Sponsor A Student Program.” With this program you will choose a student and help him/her through college or graduate school. You will then see your direct positive impact on the life of another human being for the rest of his/her life. That’s not it, just think how this money will get reused after it’s paid back to help many more of the unfortunate to take a step ahead in life and stand on their feet. |
